|River of Io
"River of Io"
Instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Strings, Percussion
Feel: Driving, Mysterious, Suspenseful
I would like to state, for the record, that this is the worst river cruise I've ever taken. The zombie crocodiles were bad enough, but the chase for the stolen artifact statue that was taken by the Ice Monkey Lord was really quite too much. And now I'm missing my left shoe. So why are we up sneaking around UFO landing sites? NONE OF THIS MAKES ANY SENSE!!! You got some clandestine stuff going on? This track will probably work for any sneakiness anywhere.
Feel: Calming, Uplifting
This is the first slow 8-bit piece I ever tried. There was some skepticism going in, but holy man! This turned out great! You can use it for your game credits, or more chill parts of your game. Maybe at the Healing Shack, or the Abe Vigoda Memorial Pagoda and Koi Pond. The uncompressed download has a bonus percussion track.
Instruments: Cello, Violin, Synths
Feel: Mystical, Dark, Mysterious
Remember that time you were lost in the woods and you were visited by the clan of centaurs, and they were super suspicious of you, but decided to take you back to their settlement anyway? It never happened! That was a screen memory! There are no centaurs, and they wouldn't live in forest settlements! That was an alien abduction. The aliens planted the memory of the forest centaurs so your brain wouldn't implode with the knowledge of trans-dimensional beings... such as themselves. And... unrelated, but... what comes to mind when you think about the smell of wet cardboard and Sriracha?
Instruments: Bass, Guitar, Organ, Percussion
Feel: Aggressive, Bouncy, Grooving
Deep grooving crazy big percussion. Super danceable! High energy, without every getting the way. Useful for tech videos, badass characters, or general listenings! The download comes with all the parts separated out as well as a bonus track at 165 beats per minute (slightly slower and even deeper grooving!).
|Thief in the Night
"Thief in the Night"
Instruments: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Organ
Feel: Grooving, Relaxed
Laid-back, grooving, and cool. Did I mention cool? You need a cool piece. That is a statement you NEED a cool piece. Lucky for you, this IS a cool piece. Super clean production will allow this piece to fit into most things. I'd personally use this piece for a super badass character. You can download this in uncompressed format here. Download comes with individual tracks so you can make your own mixes.
|Happy Happy Game Show
"Happy Happy Game Show"
Instruments: Organ, Drums, Bass, Piano, Horns
Feel: Grooving, Bouncy, Humorous
Okay, it is a 12 bar blues, but you got to stick around at least until the horns! I couldn't start with the horns as that would be a frightening level of happy. The uncompressed download also comes with a perfectly loopable track for those who don't want the party to end. You can download this in uncompressed format here. Download comes with individual tracks so you can make your own mixes.
Sheet Music: Available!
Instruments: Lute, Cellos, Basses, Penny Whistle
Feel: Dark, Somber, Mystical
We've all been there. It is a little sad, a little hopeful... like when you finally set your rescue owl back into the world. You're sad to see her go, but you hope for the best. You've done all you can inside... her wings work pretty well now, and she can snatch the mice from your living room floor even when you put in a bunch of fake plants in the way to give the prey cover. Nothing to do now but hope Blossom can rule the night as you hoped she one day would. Also... time to buy a bunch of mousetraps. You can download this in uncompressed format here. Download comes with individual tracks so you can make your own mixes.
Instruments: Guitar, Ukulele, Drums, Bass, Glockenspiel, Music Box
Feel: Bright, Relaxed, Uplifting
Nice, forward-pulling piece pretty much guaranteed to offend no one. This piece is a little more complex than others in this genre because of the multiple countermelodies. They clear out many times, and make room before coming back in. You can make your own mixes with the uncompressed downloads to only include the melodies you want if you like! You can download this in uncompressed format here. Download comes with individual tracks so you can make your own mixes.
Instruments: Percussion, Bass, Synths, Clav, Guitar
Feel: Bright, Grooving
Discomedusae is an obsolesced class of jellyfish. I'm guessing there was some biology schism back in the day and some crazy jellyfish specialist wrote some sort of definitive work on the animals and everyone had to change their classification. The jerk. I mean, it was probably JUST FINE the way it was! But NOOooo! You had to come along and screw up my perfectly good taxonomy key - rendering it USELESS! Hey jellyfish specialist - guess what? No one cares that much anyway! We're all just placating you until you die, and then everyone is going back to using the old keys, which we could at least figure out! This is a disco tune. You can download this in uncompressed format here. Download comes with individual tracks so you can make your own mixes.
Instruments: guitars, bass, drums, french horn, trumpet
Big broad sound certain to give a sense of rockin' wonder! It switches back and forth between faster guitar-driven sections and majestic horn sections. I know - it sounds like it won't work, but it totally DOES work. Just imagine motocross highlights to this! Or any extreme sport that would benefit from the use of slow motion. You can download this in uncompressed format here. Download comes with individual tracks so you can make your own mixes.
Instruments: Guitar, Bass, Piano, Percussion, Clarinets, English Horn
Feel: Dark, Calming, Mysterious
Is this a Western? No idea. Super laid-back piece with a crazy subtle modulation at 1:06. Yeah. That happened. Slow, beautiful. The download comes with a slightly faster bonus version.
