Instruments: Tenor Sax, Percussion, Synths
Feel: Grooving, Mysterious, Action
Holy smoldering tenor sax, Batman!! You want to set a mood? This is your track! It just keeps building and building! The sheet music for this recording is a post-it that says "noodle in F Minor." Such is the power of a real musician! You can just give them notes like that... and get music like this!
Instruments: EP, Violas, Cellos, Strings
Feel: Suspenseful, Dark, Somber
This is the Miami Nights main theme motive, but really quite sad. You know what's awesome? This "string synth" is 8 actual cellos and 12 violas... multi-tracked 4 times. Technology! So much power, you can't help but abuse it!

"Super Power Cool Dude"
Instruments: Synths, Drums
Feel: Action, Driving, Uplifting
This piece was built almost entirely with arpeggiators. What does that mean for you? Probably nothing. But holy man! Does this sound like it is from 1983! So, pop a tape of "Flashdance" in your VCR... and then spend like 8 minutes rewinding it... because, apparently your cousin couldn't be bothered to do that. Seriously, Sally! You did the same thing when I lent you "Smokey and the Bandit II", and I didn't say anything because you had a hard week, but still managed to make the Jell-o Salad with the grapes for the family reunion... which was nice. Anyway, I'll probably just get you one of those $20 tape rewinders they have at Radio Shack for your birthday. I also enrolled you in the Battery of the Month Club. You're welcome.
Instruments: Bass, Organ, Guitar, Percussion
Feel: Aggressive, Bouncy, Grooving
Funky drum machines? Yes, please! Also a killer bass line. This is both big and fun... kind of like the Paul Bunyan Experience... if Paul Bunyan were hip. Unlike most of my tunes, this one has an actual ending! Uncompressed download comes with all the parts to make your own mixes - should this one be insufficient.
Instruments: Bass Flute, Synths, Percussion
Feel: Somber, Relaxed, Mystical, Calming
Wikipedia describes the Thunderbird as "a supernatural bird of power and strength". It will also ask you to disambiguate it from the automobile made by Ford from 1955 to 2005. I'm sure it was a nice car. I've never owned one. But there were a lot of them! The late 70's Thunderbirds are particularly horrifying... They had those headlight covers that flipped up... because that was a good idea at some point. But this piece! Oh! This piece! Atmosphere like you wouldn't believe! The flute is just so earthy! The organic drones are also beautiful. The whole thing is beautiful. Kind of like you went to an alien day spa in another dimension where days last for years, but you still never get all wrinkly when you're in the bubbly warm waters. mmmm... bubbly warm waters... with the slight possibility of a serial killer. |Final Battle of the Dark Wizards
"Final Battle of the Dark Wizards"
Instruments: Synths, Choir, Percussion, French Horns, Trumpets, Violas
Feel: Dark, Intense, Unnerving, Epic, Mystical
Slowly building tension power that really gets going when the super gnarly drums kick in after the violas... sort of in the section with the trumpet.... then there's this part that's all like "AHHHH AHHHHHH AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!" And then there's some more "AHHHHHHHHH" and then even more and its like a new key or something, and the drums are all distorted and slammin', and then there's this wwwwwwhhhhHHHHHOOOOOOOSHHHH!!!! and some more french horn majesty - and like another keychange or something... but definitely some bass drum. The big bass drum that you stand up and hit with a mallet... not the kind you stick on the floor... and stomp on a pedal that is attached to a mallet that hits the floor drum. You can download this in uncompressed format here. Download comes with individual tracks so you can make your own mixes.
|Drums of the Deep
Instruments: Strings, Choir, Percussion
Feel: Bright, Calming, Mystical, Relaxed
Heavy strings play several chords before a violin enters with a sliding melody, in tandem with a woman?s voice and flute. The bass drums are barely perceptible, but accentuate the orchestra as the three melodic personalities float amongst the music. The music is full of wonder and power, and ends in a strong chord, evoking a connection with nature.

Feel: Calming, Epic, Somber, Uplifting
A piece in two parts. Slow piano intro, and then a giant power section at 1 minute 50 seconds in. Written for an animation piece.
Instruments: Guitar, Bass, Kit
Feel: Aggressive, Driving, Intense
Aggressive guitars in 2 styles. The guitar mostly in the right channel has a hard gate effect on eighth notes, giving it an almost percussive drive. The one on the left is extended power chords with a hint of a major mode to them - as opposed to the traditional unqualified (open root fifth) or minor chords that you usually find in hard rock pieces. The effect is striking at times.
Feel: Dark, Epic, Action, Suspenseful
Turbulent low brass and snare countered by high winds. High energy.
