|Hiding Your Reality
"Hiding Your Reality"
Instruments: Percussion, Synths, Brass, Tuba, Euphonium, Bass Trombone, Trombone, French Horn, Trumpet
Feel: Action, Driving, Epic
It hurts my brain to switch from english words to symbols. Try to read these words and symbols out loud quickly: hyphen-slash-backslash/dash/-\hyphen//hashtag_octothorpe#- Crazy, right? That had nothing to do with this piece of music. I'm just sharing.
Instruments: Lute, English Horn, Cellos, Violas, Percussion
Feel: Bouncy, Grooving, Relaxed
How bustling do Gnomish villages get? I imagine not more bustling than this. If I were a gnome.... out there bustling my butt every day, this would be my soundtrack.
Instruments: Basses, CellosBassoons, English Horn, Percussion, Pipe Organ, Basses, Violins, Violas, Percussion
Feel: Eerie, Dark, Driving
Have you ever heard a 4 bassoon ensemble before? Not likely. While bassoonists may create temporary pair-bonds, they are never found in groups of 3 or more. Much digital trickery was involved in this piece to make them appear as though they were all in the same room at the same time. Tuba players, on the other hand exhibit extreme flocking behaviour, and have even been spotted in mass migrations.
Instruments: Piano, Basses, Cellos, Flutes, Clarinets, Oboes, English Horn, Percussion
Feel: Dark, Driving, Intense
This is an awesome theme tune. For ANYthing. You got a dark comedy about an inept biologist? This will work. A gritty fantasy dealing with fairy politics? A sci-fi dystopian future where everyone likes sardines? A reality show about bicycle thieves? A slice-of-life serial about growing up in the Upper Peninsula? Seriously. Anything.
|Ascending the Vale
"Ascending the Vale"
Instruments: Harp, Choir, Flute Percussion, Anyafil Horn
Feel: Relaxed, Calming, Mystical
We've all been there... wandering through an impenetrable forest, half dead with 2 arrows sticking out of your leg. And yet we continue - because it is probably good for the narrative. Then hope! Oh thank the old gods and the new!! An unmapped settlement of woodland inhabitants takes you in and brings you back from the brink of certain death. You don't even care that it is a scurry of giant squirrels that came to the rescue, or that the healing soup they give you is largely acorn-based, and vomit-inducing. Pastoral and beautiful. The download comes with a loop for if you never want the feeling to end.
Instruments: Prepared Piano, Bass Clarinet, Cello, Clarinet, English Horn, Tuba, Trombones, French Horns, Oboe, Synth, Violin, Flutes
Feel: Dark, Eerie, Mysterious
Several distinct moods are found in this piece. They start at 0:00, 1:23, 2:31, and 3:10. They do all flow into each other, but can be sliced apart pretty easily. Some are quite beautiful, so stick with this piece. Excellent piece for filmmakers!
|Curse of the Scarab
"Curse of the Scarab"
Instruments: Xylophone, English Horn, Oboe, Bass Clarinet, Flutes, French Horn, Basses, Cellos, Percussion
Feel: Dark, Epic, Action, Driving
Five! Five full minutes of battle fighting action bits with a bit of an Egyptian flair! For some reason I associate English horn with desert nomads. There must have been some cultural reference in my youth to that effect. Super crazy awesome brass is super crazy awesome... wait for it... you'll be glad you did! Uncompressed download comes with fully loopable mix. You can download this in uncompressed format here. Download comes with individual tracks so you can make your own mixes.
Instruments: Basses, Cellos, War Horn, Brass, Percussion, Choir
Feel: Aggressive, Driving, Dark
Formerly titled "Tyranid Battle Loop", this piece was written for down and dirty... and very very long battle scenes for space bug critters. But you can use it for anything you like! Got a video where you stuck a cucumber on a drone to terrorize your cat? Boom! Corruption. Or those really gross films of people removing cysts? ug. don't use this for that. Actually, why are you posting that? Don't do it. Just... ug. can't unsee... You can download this in uncompressed format here. Download comes with individual tracks so you can make your own mixes.
Instruments: Basses, Cellos, War Horn, Brass, Percussion, Choir
Feel: Aggressive, Driving, Dark, Suspenseful
You want battle music? You can't HANDLE the battle music! Meh. You probably can. As battle music goes, this is pretty tame - no blaring trumpets or hyperactive xylophones... Why? Dialog! You can actually talk over this battle music! Feel free to punctuate with your own stabs after you cut around your dialog. Or don't. You can use this as a loop on your Twitch stream for anything... battle-y. That rough spiccato bass line is off the hook! (Do people still say "off the hook"? I might be a few years late on that.) |Final Battle of the Dark Wizards
"Final Battle of the Dark Wizards"
Instruments: Synths, Choir, Percussion, French Horns, Trumpets, Violas
Feel: Dark, Intense, Unnerving, Epic, Mystical
Slowly building tension power that really gets going when the super gnarly drums kick in after the violas... sort of in the section with the trumpet.... then there's this part that's all like "AHHHH AHHHHHH AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!" And then there's some more "AHHHHHHHHH" and then even more and its like a new key or something, and the drums are all distorted and slammin', and then there's this wwwwwwhhhhHHHHHOOOOOOOSHHHH!!!! and some more french horn majesty - and like another keychange or something... but definitely some bass drum. The big bass drum that you stand up and hit with a mallet... not the kind you stick on the floor... and stomp on a pedal that is attached to a mallet that hits the floor drum. You can download this in uncompressed format here. Download comes with individual tracks so you can make your own mixes.
Instruments: Bass, Accordion, Drums, EP, Guitar, Horns, Organ, Synth, Sax, Vibes
Feel: Grooving, Relaxed
You know what's cool? A standpipe in the winter. I imagine this one with a hip mustache and a plaid beret. Enough of the imagery, this is a little downtempo chill piece with lush horn punctuation. Suitable for: walks in the rain, time-lapse videos, sad cooking shows. You can download this in uncompressed format here. Download comes with individual tracks so you can make your own mixes.
