|Trio for Piano, Cello, and Clarinet
"Trio for Piano, Cello, and Clarinet"
Instruments: Piano, Cello, Clarinet
Feel: Relaxed, Calming, Somber
More contemplative than outright depressing. Tempo is highly variable, so don't count on it if you have to synch to something. I didn't know there was a tradition of writing for this instrumentation. It works very well.
Feel: Dark, Somber
Methodical and depressing short piece. Written as a quick composition study with only strings.
|Dragon and Toast
"Dragon and Toast"
Instruments: Didge, Harp, Celesta, Bass, Cello, Violin, Bassoon, Conta Bassoon, English Horn, Oboe, Percussion
Feel: Dark, Eerie, Intense, Mystical, Unnerving
Instruments: Brass, Winds, Percussion, Strings
Feel: Dark, Epic, Driving
A very serious and straight dark orchestral piece. Tubular bells, bass trombone, and bass drum add a lot of low-end.
Instruments: Bass, Cello, Viola, Xylophone
Broad dark sustained chords in the low strings punctuated with slight percussion.
Instruments: Flutes, Alto Flute, Clarinet
Feel: Eerie, Mysterious, Mystical
Broad minor chords moving slowly in parallel. Reminds me of Holst.
Instruments: Bass, Cello, Viola, Tympani, Marimba, Flutes
Feel: Action, Driving, Suspenseful, Dark, Epic
Someone's running from something... or to somewhere... High energy, but reserved.
Instruments: Synth, Percussion, Choir, Harp
Feel: Dark, Eerie, Mystical, Relaxed, Intense, Somber
Minimal percussion gives a subtle edge to the smooth synth line.
Instruments: Bells, Dulcimer, Synth, English Horn, Percussion, Flute
Feel: Dark, Eerie, Mysterious, Somber, Unnerving
This piece stars a super-low bass line that physically unnerves. The bells and other melodies offer enough complexity to offset the simple repetitive lines.
Feel: Driving, Action, Intense, Suspenseful
Written as a theme for a podcast, this was requested as "upbeat with an air of mystery". So that's what it is.
|Sneak 'n Get Caught
"Sneak 'n Get Caught"
Feel: Dark, Mysterious, Epic, Suspenseful
Low strings / glass harmonica. Wind/String/Percussion diminished chord build with crescendo and sting on the end. (written for Darker Projects' Falcon Banner Episode 4)
