Thinking Music "Thinking Music" Instruments: Cello, Viola, Violin, Harp Feel: Dark, Humorous, Suspenseful Comedic "hard thinking" music. Chances are you won't need the entire piece if you are making a film. I made it so you can cut it up into different sounding sections of various seriousness. If you're using it for a video game, everything flows together well, or you could loop sections that work best. Fearless First "Fearless First" Instruments: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Flute Feel: Driving, Grooving Before you complain about the bass, that is the entire point of this mix. It is scary-bass... yet somehow subdued. If this bass was a car, it would be a cement mixer... That's a terrible analogy. Forgetting for the moment that a cement mixer isn't a car... I guess they have the ones that are mounted on big trucks - and those trucks share a lot in common with cars, you know steering wheels, engines, tires, and the soon-to-be-anachronistic internal combustion engine. Anyway, if you don't like the bass you can pretty easily EQ it to a reasonable level, or buy the stems and remix it yourownself. Before you complain about the use of the word "yourownself", I wrote it. You understood it. It is a word. There is also some dreamy flute in here. Delightful D "Delightful D" Instruments: Synth, Percussion Feel: Bright, Driving, Grooving Welcome to the Holiday Inn, Airport. The presentation will begin shortly. SUCCESS starts with your ATTITUDE! If you are not EARNING, make sure you are LEARNING! AMBITION is the path to success. PERSISTENCE is the vehicle you arrive in. Success is doing the OPPOSITE of what everyone else is DOING! Actually... don't take this last one too literally. If everyone else is using the door, don't try walking through a wall (or whatever the opposite of a "door" is). I mean... there is a reason most people do the same things. Usually because they make sense. Oh, sure... it is okay to QUESTION what people are doing, but just doing the opposite... probably not great. The future of NETWORK MARKETING is UNLIMITED! Oh... Also a bit of hyperbole here. I mean, it literally cannot exceed the gross output of all the world's economies - and will likely top out far before that due to INEFFICIENCIES and REGULATION. Voltaic "Voltaic" Instruments: Synth, Percussion Feel: Action, Driving, Grooving You know that sound that was big in 80s dance music with that sort of galloping doo-do-do-DAH-do-do-doo-do-do-DAH thing? This has a thing like that, but in really, really complex drum sound. You need to wait until 16 seconds in to hear what the doo-do-do-DAH-do-do-doo-do-do-DAH sounds like. I know it can be difficult reading KRN (Kevin's Rhythmic Notation). A-do-do-dooo-a-da-da-daaah is all I want to say to you. BossaBossa "BossaBossa" Instruments: Piano, Bass, Drums, Guitar Feel: Calming, Grooving, Bright What makes a Bossa Nova a Bossa Nova? Whatever it is, this has it double! Or maybe it is just compensating for its relatively simple chord progression. Enjoy your Bossa! Probably. Probably a Bossa Nova. Salty Ditty "Salty Ditty" Instruments: Synth, Percussion Feel: Bouncy, Humorous, Uplifting Avast ye maties! All your boat are belong to us! Super chipper piratey-like 8bit tune. I mean, it could be used for non-nautical things, but the audience will probably be all like "Hey! Why is there an 8-bit pirate shanty going on here!?" Perfectly loopable for all your casual seafaring games. Or game reviews. Or actual voyages. Or voyage reviews. Lobby Time "Lobby Time" Instruments: Vibes, Piano, Bass, Drums Feel: Calming, Grooving, Relaxed Welcome to the lobby of the FUTURE! Luxurious automatic ashtrays, and modern green vinyl furnishings set off the shag carpeted walls. Enjoy a Rusty Nail from our cheerful bar staff (with a complimentary cheese and fruit plate before 5pm). We feature prime rib dinners every day that ends in a "y"! Remember to tip the bellhops at least 5 cents per bag. Enjoy your stay! This was written 2 years before it was published, because I didn't have a good enough upright bass sample to make it go. Vanishing "Vanishing" Instruments: Prepared Piano, Bass Clarinet, Cello, Clarinet, English Horn, Tuba, Trombones, French Horns, Oboe, Synth, Violin, Flutes Feel: Dark, Eerie, Mysterious Several distinct moods are found in this piece. They start at 0:00, 1:23, 2:31, and 3:10. They do all flow into each other, but can be sliced apart pretty easily. Some are quite beautiful, so stick with this piece. Excellent piece for filmmakers! Nowhere Land "Nowhere Land" Instruments: Synths, Percussion Feel: Bright, Uplifting Fun fact: Working title was "Arpeggiator Rock From the 80s 1". Fun fact: This piece consist entirely of single notes being passed to a stack 5 different synths at the same time. Each synth has a different program running on it that triggers more notes. Fun fact: Scotland isn't a nation. It is technically an empire that claims sovereignty over Paraguay's 400k sheep and also Neptune's "shepherd" moon Despina. Gregorian Chant "Gregorian Chant" Instruments: Synth, Choir Feel: Mystical, Somber Is it a real Gregorian Chant? Nope. For one - there are no real words in it. Honestly, I don't want a religious exaltation mucking up my fantasy world. So if you're building a historically accurate "Monk Simulator: Year of Our Lord 882!", just move on. The other reason this isn't real is I never learned how to read that notation. There are insufficient sticks for the rhythms in the notation... I know, there is a real convention that you can learn. I just grabbed a few pieces of the sheet music from the 1200s, and guessed at how to do it. Sounds reasonable enough to me!
