New Host

I have a brand new hosting company for my music files, and it seems to be working like a champ! Thanks to all of you for your recommendations. I made charts with the features of each host, and the pricing and the wierd things with all of them. Finding a provider is a nightmare.
Luckily – many of the providers’ websites were unavailable or slow at one point or another – so they got trimmed out quickly. :-)
I went with 1&1 Internet. Setup was easy, and the rates for 2 terabytes of monthly transfer are almost too good to be true.
I hope the new provider works for all of you! Thank you for your patience… now maybe I can get back to writing music.

Storyboards!

Filmmakers have one more reason to visit incompetech.com!
Check it out.
They have variable aspect ratios, optional description lines, and an optional title line. I’m sure people will request more features, but for now it works pretty well!

Help me out…

I am in the process of finding a new Web Host provider for my audio files. One might think this is an easy process… one would be wrong. I need 5 Gig of storage and 500 Gig of transfer per month. If you know of someone who has a plan like that – please let me know.

In the meanwhile, I apologize to all the people who are having a hard time downloading music from me. I’ve quantified and cataloged the problem, but my hosting provider’s support staff refuses to believe it is a problem.
I am working to find a new host as soon as possible.

More ways to measure time

Monthy Calendars now have 2 new options to measure time; Inset day of year, and week numbers!
Many people from many countries have wanted the week numbers, and they appear to be a hit. They’re more complicated than you might think – and they are calculated differently depending on whether your week starts on Monday or Sunday. They should always give you the week number that you expect for your local calendar.
There are additional features, as well. The line drawing has been optimized, and the PDF file proper is compressed to about 25% of the old files’ size. It is also faster. Thank you all for your patience, and enjoy!
Special thanks to Ivan who did all the work!

Cool Side and Something else…

Today’s new music (and probably the last new music for a few weeks) includes a piece which started its life called “alternate uses for acoustic guitar overtones“. It was just an 8-bar sketch that I started laying things on top of. It ended up being something… uh… well – something. I have no clue what it is, so I put it under Experimental. I can say this – the mix is great.

The other piece, On the Cool Side, is more in a genre – but it isn’t hardcore jazz. It has some bluesy notes, and a jazz ending note. It is quite cool. Cool in the jazz sense; not cool in the absolute sense. I’ll stop typing now.

Christmas Time; Horrors; and Sadness

Nothing is more fun during a record heatwave than recording Christmas music. I’m used to it – it happens every year.

A piece that I classified as “horror” which was written for a new audio drama… which isn’t horror.

I need to come up with a better way to categorize these. It is getting out of hand. There’s another piece online called Pride… I forget what page it is on.
There you go, everbodys! Five new pieces today. And four more that I should have uploaded but was too lazy. They’re piano solos – I’ll get them up in a bit.
